Inflation forecast to be higher in 2010

Author: (SINGAPORE) Inflation is now expected to be higher in 2010, as a result of increased Housing and Development Board property values.
The government has revised its consumer price index (CPI) inflation forecast to between 2.5 and 3.5 per cent, from a one to 2 per cent range previously.

Asian stocks rally on US, China news
AFTER two days of red ink and downbeat investor sentiment, the local bourse swung back into positive territory yesterday following gains on other Asian stock markets.
Stocks enjoyed a rally following encouraging auto data out of the United Sates and an upward revision of China’s growth forecast by the World Bank. These two items of news stoked investor hopes of a sustainable economic recovery.

No decisive economic recovery
THE Monetary Authority of Singapore believes the local economy is likely to see slow and uneven economic growth instead of a sharp and decisive recovery.
