Both sides called trading halt as Reit row escalates
THE war of the Reits between MacarthurCook Industrial (MI-Reit) in one corner and Cambridge Industrial Trust (CIT) in the other hit a new level yesterday when both firms called trading halts to make announcements.
Their simmering row has mostly been confined to full-page newspaper advertisements but it has intensified in the run-up to Monday’s key meeting to vote on MI-Reit’s financing plans.

S’pore market up for 5th straight day
SINGAPORE’S stock market defied losses elsewhere in the region yesterday, rising for the fifth straight day on optimism the local economy will turn the corner sooner than expected.
The benchmark Straits Times Index (STI) gained 27.96 points – or 1.05 per cent – to 2,680.47, its highest close in more than two weeks.

SGX turns corner with Q4 profit rise
THE rush back to the markets by investors has allowed the Singapore Exchange (SGX) to finally turn the corner on its falling profitability.
