Both sides called trading halt as Reit row escalates

Author: THE war of the Reits between MacarthurCook Industrial (MI-Reit) in one corner and Cambridge Industrial Trust (CIT) in the other hit a new level yesterday when both firms called trading halts to make announcements.
Their simmering row has mostly been confined to full-page newspaper advertisements but it has intensified in the run-up to Monday’s key meeting to vote on MI-Reit’s financing plans.

Icahn says offered $6 billion loan to CIT (Reuters)
Reuters – Famed corporate raider Carl Icahn said he offered to underwrite a $6 billion loan to CIT Group Inc and complained that horse-trading between the troubled lender and its largest creditors was harming other bondholders.
